Recipe Cards

Decorated Recipe Cards

I had some old recipe cards laying around taking up space and thanks to Pinterest (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=250630.0) I found a new use for them. The set I had already had all the tabs on top so all I had to do was add some pretty paper to them. I chose to use Summer Song by Zoe Pearn. I used my Glue Glider Pro & a glue stick to attach the pages together. Once I was done I took a medium tag from the Paper Studio and wrote out who it was to and who it was from. I then took two stamps from a set of sentiments I found in the bottom of my drawer and used orange ink. Then orange and green ribbon tied the tag to the recipe cards. Very easy project and I love the way they turned out.

Valentine's Day Butterfly

Valentine's Day is coming up and my 4 year old always makes things for the family on holidays. This year for Valentine's Day she made butterflies. I was so proud of her, she made them mostly on her own. I created two heart templates, one large and one small. She then traced the hearts on red paper and cut them out. Next she glued them together. She put the small one on top and upside down. Then she took the toilet paper roll and covered it in a purple paper she cut out. She then glued the body of the butterfly on to the two hearts and added a face. I helped her cut the pipe cleaner in half and then she twisted each one around her finger about 3 times to make them curl. I then wrote out Happy Valentine's Day on a piece of scratch paper and she copied it on to her butterflies. Now for Valentine's to hurry up so that she can hand all these out...

Items needed for this project:

2 different colors of paper
Toilet paper roll
Pen
Scissors
Pipe cleaners
Tape and/or glue

Wedding Scrapbook

My cousin recently got married and I was asked to create a scrapbook for them. Her colors were turquoise and brown. All the paper came from Hobby Lobby. I didn't tack anything down in case there was something in the book the bride didn't agree with. Here is what I came up with.

Items needed to create this book:

18 - 12x12 scrapbook paper
Cricut with Songbird Cartridge
Cuttlebug with embossing folders (Provo Craft Swirls, Sizzix (this folder looks like notebook paper), and 3 The Paper Studio folders (hearts, a paisley pattern and a journaling folder)
Brown Ink - any
Tumbled Glass Ink - Tim Holtz
Make-up sponge
Paper cutter or scissors
Gluestick or pen - for the letters
Flowers - brown, white and turquoise
Turquoise and silver rhinestones
Turquoise and brown ribbon
Stamps - The Paper Studio Love, Stampabilites True Love, and another fromThe Paper Studio (it has the word Cherish and the hearts used)
Turquoise, Brown and Creme cardstock
Striped paper
